Appearance: White, odorless, and fine powder or granules. Chemical Formula: CaO (Calcium Oxide) Solubility: Insoluble in water. Reacts with water to form calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)). Identification: The substance reacts with water and produces heat, confirming its identity as Calcium Oxide. Assay: Not less than 90% of CaO. Heavy Metals: Not more than 0.001% (as Pb). Arsenic: Not more than 0.0002%. Loss on Ignition: Not more than 5%. Chlorides: Not more than 0.1%. Sulphates: Not more than 0.5%. Iron (Fe): Not more than 0.5%.
